El Gen Argentino (in Spanish, "The Argentine Gene") was the Argentina spin-off of the 2002 Greatest Britons program produced by the BBC. Launched on 27 August 2007, was a television program series by Telefe, to determine who historical personality represents the Argentine Nation, who possesses the Argentine Gene. The Top 10 were announced in first programme, with almost 350,000 votes cast. In following shows, there were chosen pairs of candidates in history, art, science, politics and entertainment.
