Don't Give Up the Ship
El Capitan first hires The Beagle Boys to steal a small wooden ship from Scrooge McDuck's money bin, but is stopped by Scrooge's nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie. The nephews get the ship to Scrooge at his candy factory with El Capitan and The Beagle Boys on their trail. The nephews help Scrooge trap The Beagle Boys, but El Capitan warns that Scrooge has found nothing yet.
Wronguay in Ronguay
He joins Flintheart Glomgold in following Scrooge to the treasure. After Scrooge locates the treasure ship, he and Glomgold throw Scrooge and the boys off the ship. When Glomgold throws a Golden Sun coin to Scrooge off the ship, El Capitan gets angry at Glomgold from throwing away "his" gold and a fight ensues. They fire a cannonball into the air. It come back down to the ship and causes it to sink. Scrooge rescues Glomgold, but El Capitan vows to get even with Scrooge.
Three Ducks of the Condor
While he is never actually seen, it is explained that the ancestor of Juaquin Slowly and his companion were left behind by the greedy captain of their ship. Given his name and actions in the previous episode upon discovering the ship, it is implied that he is the captain.

Too Much of a Gold Thing
He follows Scrooge and his nephews to the Golden Suns treasure itself. After Scrooge activates a trap by opening all three doors of the treasure rooms at the same time, El Capitan appears on the scene with a shotgun. He then makes Scrooge, Mrs. Beakley, and his nephews get into a pot hanging over a "lava pit". As he lowers them, he claims that he's been waiting 400 years to find the treasure. Scrooge regains consciousness and begins shivering in spite of the intense heat, which is the final step in gold fever, because the lava is also made of gold! Scrooge declares this to be "the real Treasure of the Gold-hic-en Suns", and upon hearing this, El Capitan brings them back up, saying he "won't have them tasting a single drop of his gold." Scrooge and El Capitan begin fighting, failing to notice the curse's effects (as a result of Scrooge opening all three doors at once) The floor begins to collapse. They temporarily stop in order to dodge the collapsing floor and jump to safety. Then the walls start moving, trying dump them all into the golden lava below. It's at this point that Scrooge finally snaps out of his gold fever and uses the vines growing on the walls to climb out with the rest of his group. They even take El Capitan with them, despite his urging to be left with "all the pretty gold". The curse next has the giant gold discs reflecting the Sun's light into the lava, causing a volcanic eruption. Launchpad McQuack notices this and, believing this to be a rescue flare that Scrooge would signal him for, gets the plane back up and running, and saves everyone. After the plane lands, El Capitan gets out and runs up the mountain, only to find the treasure was buried as they escaped. Scrooge and the gang leave him as he starts digging for the treasure.
