El amor que soñé (The love that I dreamed) is the Spanish version for Open Arms by Mariah Carey. It was released on the South American and Spanish versions of the Daydream album. It was also released as a radio single in a number of Spanish-speaking countries. As an international bonus track, it was first released in 1995. The Spanish adaptation was made by Manny Benito.[1] [2]
[edit] Critical Reception
This is the second song in Spanish by Carey. The song was welcomed by critics, receiving better reviews than Héroe(Her first single in Spanish). Mariah was praised by her improvement in the pronunciation. In fact, Spanish speaking fans were more satisfed with this song, but they still believed the lyrics unworthy compared to the original one. However the song was a big success.
