Elísio de Figueiredo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elísio de Figueiredo served as the first ambassador of Angola to the United Nations from 1976 to 1988 as well as the Minister of Industry. He was accused of embezzlement of million of dollars worth of aid and loan money by a French newspaper in 2002, in the frame of the Angolagate, though no formal action was ever taken against him or also accused President José Eduardo dos Santos.
