Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
- Please use a neutral point of view when editing articles; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted text, advertisement messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Adding such unreasonable information or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism, and will result in your account being blocked.
The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). [edit] October 2007
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Myanmar. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as the text has been restored from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. — Indon (reply) — 10:56, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Naming articles on people
Like Wikipedia:Naming conventions (people) says, don't add qualifiers (such as "Lt-Gen") except when this is the simplest and most NPOV way to deal with disambiguation. For example, Lt-Gen Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo should really be located at Thiha Thura Tin Aung Myint Oo. Thank you! :) — Ksero 12:11, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Ministry of Hotels and Tourism (Myanamr). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Even stub articles need to have some content or they are likely to be deleted. → AA (talk) — 13:49, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.umfcci.com.mm/foreword.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 10:40, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Umfcci.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Umfcci.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Usdaflag.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Usdaflag.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 13:23, 28 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Burmese film
Hello and welcome to wikipedia. Thankyou very much for your work on Burmese film. It is a very underdeveloped area because of lack of online info but if you do have knowledge of List of Burmese films your contributions here would be much appreciated. Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:53, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
I want to add my voice to Blofeld's in welcoming you to Wikipedia. It's great to see some contributions about the cinema of Myanmar (Burma). — WiseKwai 15:58, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
HI thanks again for your work but note wikipedia doesn't have seperate categories for male or female actors they all go in Category:Burmese actors rather than Myanmar actresses. Could you add some films to List of Burmese films some time also please Thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:01, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Tin Naing Thein
A tag has been placed on Tin Naing Thein requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. JohnCD 21:15, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Talk in articles
Please do not add commentary, instructions, or other talk in articles, as you did to Burma. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. Ward3001 16:53, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
I did not write the words you said in Burma but I deleted this words < ! -- -- > by written by someone. I am so sorry about that. I did not mean to mention to display their word but I want want to know their word to the resposible person because their words is not meet the wikipedia rule. User:Ekyaw
Hi Ekyaw. You are new so weren't to know - in future just suggest in the talk pages -this is what it is for. Thanks for your email check out Style (2004 film). We now have the first fuller Burmese film article on wikipedia. Congratulations and keep up the good work!! Welcome! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:14, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
One thing. If starting actor, film directors etc please start it like this: Tin Maung (1913 - 2000) was a Burmese film actor, film director and film producer.
In the english speaking world we generally refer to the people from Myanmar as Burmese. I know there is some considerable debate on whether the country itself is Myanmar or Burma. Your english is generally surprisingly good in places particularly some of your words, but if you are referring to a year please notice it is for example:
In 1982 Ko May Phi starred in the film Sau Phau , in 1983 Ka la pho. PLease use the word in rather than at when stating years. Thanks! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:45, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
- How can I add Plot from other web site
I got a plot for Style (Myanmar film) but it is from other web site(YOu can see reference). I want to add the plot. How can I add in it. Can u advice me. or YOu can see in Plot at edit mode. I left the plot summary in comment.
Best Regards Ekyaw
Hi Ekyaw in Myanmar. Thanks for all your work on Burmese films!!! Yes wikipedia can't accpet direct copy of text but I'm sure if you put it iinto your own words it would be fine. If you do this I'll give it an edit later if you like. Thanks
- Blofeld of SPECTRE: Wikipedia e-mail: How can I add the photo, logo, seal
11:44 am Thank u very much for your talk (about English language and about Style (film) in wiki. I will discuss about Myanmar and Burma in wiki. Now I have a barrier. I added some photo, logo, seal but wiki did not accept. So I want to know how can I add photo, logo, seal. I refer and read wiki help. So can you tell me how can I add? Can u tell me step by step? Best regards Ekyaw
I will try my best for it but i am weak in English. So I need your edit. thank you for your cooperation.
Ekyaw
- Re: Wikipedia e-mail: How can I add the photo, logo, seal
7:12 pm Hi. Yes all you will need is to use a fair use rationale for non free content. If you look at the film poster for Style, you'll see i have given a full rationale and licensing to explain why it can be used -this can be copied for all other films and just the title changed. You see wikipedia has a strong policy to be a "free" encyclopedia and images of films are owned by the film companies who made them. This is why your images were rejected because they didn't provide this. With logos of Myanmar military or whatever - occasionally these images may be free and may have been released into the public by the Myanmar government. However I should create an explanation for these too. It would also be great if you could upload your own photos of Myanmar and license them as GNU. Yesterday I started an article on the Yangon National museum!! Also if you could can you message me on wikipedia next time. Again on my page User:Blofeld of SPECTRE click talk and this is where to speak to me. You are clicking email this user which is contacting me outside of wkikipedia on my own private external address. Talk pages of articles and users on wikipedia is how we discuss the improvement of articles and help each other. Regards —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.81.64.34 (talk) 16:06, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Done. Also I don't want to see the word famous in actor articles. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are famous but we don't use that word for an encyclopedia. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:21, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
PLease can you start actor articles like Kyi Kyi Htay using that layout which shows the birth dates in text. If you copy that first line for actors this will be much better. Remember also I said for years it is in 1956 not at 1956 ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:32, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Could you give me web link to an image of Kyi Kyi Htay. I will upload it if you can find one. This only counts for dead people though not living actors ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:34, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
ALso please note it is in Yangon and not at Yangon. E.g May Shin was born in 1917 in Yangon, not at Yangon ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:45, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
For image of Kyi Kyi Htay you can click http://www.people.com.mm/article.cfm?id=6778&parent=6775&sec=10. and YOu can see page no 127 upper photo. ---- Ekyaw (talk) 16:47, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Done. It would be great if you could find me some more images for some of those actors. We can only use them though if they are not living. Also please respond at User talk:Blofeld of SPECTRE. Before you edited my October page. It is now November!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:01, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Your english will improve - its really good considering. If it is a short article use {{Myanmar-bio-stub}} and {{Asia-actor-stub}} at the bottom. This way later they can develop into more detailed and longer articles ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:11, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
OK i'd like you to try to find some images of these people including Ba Swe. If you can make a list and give a web link next to the name. Then give me a list of images to upload. OK? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:19, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
OK have a go at uploading them and I'll add the appropriate details. Look also at Kyaw Swe. See how birth name goes at the beginning. Note the general style of the article. Good work!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:32, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I digitally altered an image. Is the image of Ba Swe correct? Is this him ? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:43, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
May Shin is living so a free image could be able ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:56, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
- http://www.viewimages.com/Search.aspx?mid=3416983&epmid=1&partner=Google was wherenI got it. Google said one of them was Ba Swe ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:59, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
I got the wrong one did I? Are you certain? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:05, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
OK I've switched it. If you could upload all those images from paper using your scanner this would be great. I wish there were more people in Myanmar like you who had Internet access and spoke good english. The information about Myanmar on the internet has been strictly limited in the past and wikipedia is all about spreading knowledge from all over the world which other people would never know about. If you could take these images from magazines and books perhaps from your local library and your own photos of Yangon and put them on the Internet it would be a dream coming true. There must be so much of Myanmar, the people, the culture, the history etc which haven't got articles on here because the info is limited. Do the best you can. This is excellent -keep up the great work!! Hang on. If you are uploading a film poster you need to use this. At present you have used a rationale for the actors, ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:33, 16 November 2007 (UTC) Could you also try to find a free image of a Saung as well thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:31, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Also can you start an article on Zinyaw Maung Maung. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:45, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your recent edits
Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 16:22, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Done I've added the licensing. When you are uploading an image of an actor in future click here and copy everything on that page and paste it onto the pages you upload. All you need then is to change the name of the actor where you need to and change the source. This should be OK now . Have a go at uploading a few more copying that page ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:32, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
OK you need to be careful with how many images you upload to film articles. You see as copywrighted images having a gallery of copywrighted images is not normally considered accpetable. Two screenshots would have been fine I think but 4 is a bit much. Also the images have a clear copywright mark on them and this isn't a good look. Do you know how to cut images? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 14:40, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
We can't accept images for Myint Myint Khin because she is living -she isn't deceased ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:06, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Also see the tags for Talk:Thu Kha ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:23, 19 November 2007 (UTC) For actors or directors use these tags in the talk page see here. This way new articles are marked as part of wikiproject actrs and wikiproject myanmar ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:37, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
For how to tag Burmese films see Talk:Love and Liquor. All Myanmar article should have the WikiProject Myanmar (Burma) tag in them ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:41, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes upload those images thats fine license them as GFDL. However please be extremely careful with any editing over the 2007 protests. If you see any inaccuracies please make sure you use reliable sources to back them up. Articles like this are quite controversial and may be subject to political bias, which I totally agree should try to be avoided in an encyclopedia article but the people who have written it are not Burmese like yourself. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 16:56, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes OK - Mizzima News seems like a notable source but be careful - it may be a good idea to discuss it in the talk page to avoid any potential conficts over it. But doesn't the Myanmar government own most of their media and would publish what they want to? Yes GFDL basically means that other people are free to use the photograph. Have a go at uploading it as soon as you can. I'd love to see some images of Yangon, landmarks which don't have articles yet on here. This is where you can be very useful in scanning in images to upload. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 17:13, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Well this is english wikipedia and people from england and the united States and other countries tend to refer to the people of Myanmar as Burmese. Maybe it is old fashioned - I suppose you think its like referring to Thailand as Siam!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:27, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Yes unfortunately that image was too unclear for the encyclopedia. I'm sure you have some clearer ones. If you could translate things and create articles in this way this would be good. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:36, 19 November 2007 (UTC) Perhaps you could start Nyunt Win ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:49, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
You have an image of Myanmar Motion Picture Museum? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:02, 20 November 2007 (UTC) Perhaps you could visit it some time and take some images of it? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:08, 20 November 2007 (UTC) Great! For the museum we need some photos of the front of it -the outside building and many photos inside of the different displays. If you are going to Mandalay -photograph anything you can that you think would be of benefit to the encyclopedia. Hospitals, schools, factories, temples, parks, monuments, architecture, roads etc. All the best ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:20, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
It would also be great if you could get some leaflets/books etc while in Mandalay about places in the city and see if you can translate them for wikipedia when you get back. Obviously not everything will be notable and suitable but see what you can do. Have a good time at the museum with your friend!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:24, 20 November 2007 (UTC) i'm afraid I haven't got much time to expand the Myanmar Film Awards article -I hope WiseKwai could lend a hand. There seems to be a lot about it though ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 18:36, 20 November 2007 (UTC) Hi please can you add a [[ ]] around key words in the articles which link them to other pages. See Pathein Cultural Museum -see how words like Buddha etc are linked . PLease could you do this for articles in future thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:29, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
PLease see the introduction layout of Mon State Cultural Museum thanks. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:34, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
PLease follow it I haven't got time to keep correcting all these articles!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 19:37, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Wow your creating those articles fast!! Keep up the good work!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:34, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
National Library of Myanmar. thanks ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:48, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
Aahh. I think you'll find I created that one. You only added it to the List of national libraries!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 20:59, 20 November 2007 (UTC) What would be great is if Kyaw Oo could also learn english and have internet access if he doesn't already like yourself and help wikipedia!! As the head of the National Library of Myanmar his library must contain a potential of tens of thousands of articles related to the country. It really would be great if you could borrow many books and help add content from the library on!! Let him know about wikipedia and what our aim is abd I'm sure he'll be delighted to help put the history of Myanmar on the world map in detail. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Talk"? 21:03, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of List of Myanmar film companies
List of Myanmar film companies, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that List of Myanmar film companies satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Myanmar film companies and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of List of Myanmar film companies during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. ChrisDHDR 09:21, 17 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability of Nay Kyi Ba Swe
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Nay Kyi Ba Swe, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Nay Kyi Ba Swe seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Nay Kyi Ba Swe, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Very interesting article, especially the image. Thanks for starting it.
In more current, sobering matters, can you have a look at U Aung Kyi? I'd like to see a birthdate for him, as well as U Thein Sein.
Best regards. — WiseKwai 21:42, 20 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:BaSwe.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:BaSwe.jpg.
Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:39, 15 December 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of University of Nursing
A tag has been placed on University of Nursing requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. [edit] Speedy deletion of Ottama
A tag has been placed on Ottama, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

[edit] Townships of Yangon
Hey my amigo from Myanmar. How are you? Happy New Year!! Great news I've added a table to the List of Burmese films so you can add the actors, direcotrs etc like American films of 1936 etc. Also I;ve created pages for the Townships of TYangon. Could you try to help expand each one -as you obvioously know more about your city than most people in the world on wikipedia.

Template:Townships of Mandalay Division has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page. Thank you. RichardΩ612 16:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Don't worry it should be kept. I've added all the articles and have added an infobox and map to Kyaukse -thanks for your photos!! I;ve also added your Film musuem image to the main Burmese film list template. I am gradually drawing up a List of cities, towns and villages in Burma: A so eventually we have an article on every place -I didn;t realize Myanmar was so big!!! If you could follow the format like Abaw -using coordinates from googe maps do you think you could help out? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 14:34, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Scanned images
Regarding your question... "Map picture for disticts of Myanmar? Pictures are from scanner and copy from book" - You must fill out correctly the source information (name of book, year of publication, and in this case country of publication, etc.) and other details that are now part of the "Non-free use rationale" provided. The actual license will depend on where the book was published - copyright varies from country to country on these things (for example {{PD-UK}} {{PD-US}} are quite different). I do not know if there are any copyright templates/regulations for Myanmar as of yet, but imagine that it would depend highly on the year that it was published; Pre-1948 would be UK, '48-'74 would have separate laws, and post 88/89 would be a different set altogether. SkierRMH (talk) 22:32, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes as above - any maps you upload must have a clear indication of public domain -they can't be copywrighted. District maps would be extremely useful ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 22:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- It appears that right now the best bet would be to use {{PD-because}} with something like this - {{PD-because|The image is from a publication of the Government of the Union of Myanmar for Public, dated xx, xx, xxxx which does not copyright its materials}} SkierRMH (talk) 06:58, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

HI Kyaw. Good to see you have got some maps but would it be possible to find some maps which show the location of the district in the Division/Province rather than the actual district itself. Also ideally it need to be in english for english wikipedia. Also please put maps at the top right of the page and lower px to 300px or below. 500px is too large -see Pathein District. [edit] Speedy deletion of Government Technological College (Kyaukse)
A tag has been placed on Government Technological College (Kyaukse) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

[edit] Speedy deletion of Horizon International Education Center
A tag has been placed on Horizon International Education Center requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. It would also be good to add notable landmarks in the state in the naivgation box e.g for Chin State -National Parks, Mountains, Highways, Airports, Monuments, Museums, etc. and do this by state so we have a detailed guide to each division and link these in the template -e.g see Template:Lhasa Prefecture. IN THE!!!!!! ♦ Dr. Blofeld ♦ Talk? 12:23, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
rather than Category:Cities, towns and villages in Mandalay Division it is Category:Cities, towns and villages in the Mandalay Division in the Mandalay Division not in Mandalay Division. You see with division it is correct english to say in the ... division. However with states in ...state is fine. It may be confusing but this is correct english. I couldn't find a Mytttha Township -it is a typo error there can't be three t's. Your welcome. You are learning fast but you need to google the place and see if you have got the correct spellings for these places as it avoids having to repair it later. What I want is the develop Myanmar on wikipedia to the extent that we cover all settlements which will all hopefully develop over time. See Madaya Township -I have started articles on the villages outside Mandalay. Once we have got the main towns and cites started and the provincial templates I want us to develop entire villages in districts of the country like this -see Thapandaung etc ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:18, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
It is near enough to be regarded as one settlement - it looks like there may be a small village on the city which is part of it. Can you not refer to it as The Union of Myanmar. This confuses users -it is best to stick with just myanmar or burma ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 18:24, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

Have a look at the MSN Encarta atlas this is good for the villages. See this ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 15:17, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
Thats a very useful source thankyou. Gradually though the Burma article needs cutting down -it is over 4 times the recommended article length and even my computer crashes to a halt when I load tha page ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 16:11, 11 January 2008 (UTC) Great Britain and UNited Kingdom are basically like Burma and Myanmar with naming, traditional name versus the modern. but internationally it is always officially known as the UK. Strangely "Burma" on wikipedia was always referred to as Myanmar in all the articles only until a few months ago during the protests when people suddenly made a decisiobn to change all the naming and even categories back to Burma again. I have no idea why. Officially in its known as Myanmar now but I do prefer the name Burma myself. Yes it is a good idea to start cutting down the article particularly the histiry and military relations sections. Singapore or Hong Kong is a good role model for a country article -it needs to be more balanced =less on history and relations and mmore about culture, music, media etc to give a balanced article. One word of advice though - don't write too much if your english isn't good in places particularly if it is unreferenced. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ Talk? 16:33, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
