[edit] Edits to Alizée
Hi. Saw that you liked to www.alizeesearch.com in the EL section in the Alizée article. However, I am not exactly sure it is needed here. Neither sure if it should be removed. Thats why I have started a discussion on the talk page of the article. Please have a look and comment if you feel necessary. --soumtalk 03:47, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] alizeesearch.com screenshot
Hi. Image:Alizée Search screenshot.PNG says the website is not copyrighted, but the license says it is. Could you please clarify? Even though the website per se may not be copyrighted, the aggregated news items clearly are. As such, I think saying "the website is mot copyrighted" may be a bit misleading. Regards. --soum (0_o) 03:28, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Good question, Soumyasch! My answer is: I couldn't find the license which says "screenshot of a uncopyrighted web page". If you can, please change the license. Imo "the website is not copyrighted" is a true statement, but the aggregated news items are indeed copyrighted by other parties. Ekna 12:37, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

- One is not limited to the license tags. The license can be specified either by stating it textually or using a table. Plus, as I understand, a website is never copyrighted - its contents are. As the content of the website is primarily copyrighted, I would say a bit detailed clarification would be better.
-
- Also, regarding the copyrighted text, Fair Use policies state that copyrighted images or images of copyrighted content can only be used for critical commentary on the subject of the copyrighted content. Since the subject is not the search engine, I have doubts about its validity. Isn't there a way to see the interface sans the aggregated news snippets? (Google News article does not provide a screenshot. If you follow software articles, you will see in articles like Windows Media Player we avoid screenshots that show album art - as it is copyrighted and thus not suitable save for the album article. And OS articles do not have screenshots that have copyrighted images as wallpaper). --soum (0_o) 19:12, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] FAC
I have nominated Alizée for FA evaluation. You may want to take a look. --soum (0_o) 04:20, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I did. By the way, I am still working on a reply on our Alizée#External_links discussion. I hope you are looking forward to that. ;) Ekna 12:40, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks, and I have replied there itself. Some of your suggestions are excellent. I will be incorporating them into the article.
-
- As for the EL discussion, you do realize na that since there is no clause in EL policies regarding topical search engines. So we might be doing some ground breaking stuff there. I look forward to it. Who knows, if we can hit upon something concrete, it might be worthy of being taken for inclusion in the EL policy itself. --soum (0_o) 19:02, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Alizée Search
I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Alizée Search, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- Schaefer (talk) 02:16, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
