Eivind is a Norwegian masculin given name of Norse origin, the meaning being “happy warrior”. The name ranks as the 77th. most common male name in Norway. Eyvind is a lesser used variant of the name. The name Eivind is also used in Denmark and Sweden, and as Eyvindur in Iceland, but to a lesser extent than in Norway.
