[edit] Cross Country and Track and Field
The Eisenhower High School XC and Track and Field teams have been nothing short of legendary under head coach Phil English (Known affectionately as Mister) as well as a slew of assistant coaches, beautiful Robert Price, Arnie Tyler, Ray Menzia and Annette Menzia (Known affectionately as the Menzias), Von Steinhilb (Since retired), Rick Alderson, Wayne Tegen, Aleah and Eric Mickelson, and more recently, Brandon Hauver and Matt Keeler. Under the watchful eye of this renowned coaching staff, Eisenhower has dominated the since-changed Big-9 league since the 1990's, including, but not limited to, a 2000 State Championship Team in women's track and field, a 6 year undefeated streak in duel meets in track and field, multiple State Championships for the XC team, a Nationally Ranked XC team, as well as sending many of it's participants to D-I schools on full rides, including Notre Dame and Washington State University, and many other D-II scholarships. Eisenhower Cross Country is the host to the biggest Cross Country Meet in the Northwest, The Sunfair Invitational, as well as one of the bigger meets in the state, the Don-Holder Relays.
Eisenhower Cross Country has also been known to send it's world class runners to the Nike Nationals, the Iolani Invite in Hawaii, as well as all around the country. The Track and Field team has been good enough to be invited to the Arcadia Invitational in recent years, with gaining notoriety. [1] [2] [3]
