Eirias High School is situated in Colwyn Bay, North Wales. The school has around 1500 pupils and over 90 teachers and staff. The school’s name is derived from its location, the grounds of Eirias Park which is a Welsh word, loosely translated to Red Hot. Its modern facilities include up-to-date science laboratories, modern computing facilities, and a high-speed school internet network. The current headmaster is Phil McTague, who took over from Clive Hampton in 2006. The school's dress code is a maroon jumper with the Eirias crest (a book with a tree coming out of it) on it, black trousers/skirt, a white shirt and a tie with black, maroon and silver stripes.

The school has been recognized as an outstanding school in which to study. Awards include the WSSA School Award, Most Improved School, European Curriculum Award, Recognition of Quality Award, School Curriculum Award, Award of Community Service Excellence and the award and subsequent re-awards of Charter Mark and Investors in People status. As well as this, a number of teachers have won regional and national teaching awards.
