Eileen Essell

Eileen Essell (born in 1922) is an Irish actress noted in part for the age at which she began her screen acting career. Her first screen performance was at the age of 78, in a 2000 episode of the BBC soap opera Doctors. Her first major role in a feature film was the 2003 film Duplex as the "little old lady" who poses an obstacle to the happiness of a young couple played by Ben Stiller and Drew Barrymore. She played small roles as a sweet elderly fan of J. M. Barrie in the 2004 film Finding Neverland, and one of Charlie Bucket's grandmothers in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005 version). She had a supporting role in The Producers (2005 film version), and has appeared in several other films and TV programs.[1]
