EIKI Corp. (old name: Eiki Co., Ltd.) is a Japanese company that manufactures LCD and DLP projectors, related accessories and overhead projectors. One of the largest 16mm movie projector manufacturer in the past.

[edit] History

EIKI was founded in 1953 in Osaka. Initially the focus of the company was producing technology for classroom instruction but later on the company focused more on producing 16mm movie projectors for other fields. The name EIKI literally means 'projectors' in Japanese.

EIKI 16mm projectors were innovative because their design included only half of the moving parts of popular projectors, thus making them less costly and easier to maintain.

In 1974 EIKI opened a division to distribute its products in the United States, in 1988 a division followed to distribute products in Canada. In 1995 and 1997 divisions for Germany and the Czech Republic followed.

EIKI was also one of the first manufacturers of LCD projector.
