Eiji Bando

Eiji Bando (板東英二, Bandō Eiji^?, born April 5, 1940) is a Japanese television entertainer and former baseball player. He had pitched many innings in his high school career. Japan High School Baseball Federation was afraid that he injured his arm, so they set a rule of rematch in 1958. However, he pitched 18 innings in a 1958 quarterfinal game, which resulted in the first case of rematch in the National High School Baseball Championship. He reached the final, but he didn't win the championship. His record with 83 strikeouts in the tournament remains unbroken to this day. He joined Chunichi Dragons but it is said that he didn't regain his pitching.^[1] He can't extend his elbow even now.
