[edit] DDR Awards

That's fantastic that you are adding the pictures of those awards! I really want to complete translating the articles for the rest of them; there are still a lot to do. Finishing the biographies, that's a long term project however. :) Tfine80 06:49, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Banner of Labor

I was random page hopping and came across the Banner of Labor page. I was hoping you'd be able to provide a citation for the following sentence: It was given for "outstanding achievements of many years which stabilized and strengthened the German Democratic Republic (GDR), and in particular for high results of working in the national economy". Since it appears to be a direct quote, we need a citation of some sort as to where it's coming from. If you need to reply to this, you can do so here; I've put your page on my watchlist. Seqsea (talk) 07:17, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

The Banner of Labor page is a translation of the page from the German version of Wikipedia, so I can't offer your the exact source for the quote. Ehrentitle 12:07, 11 March 2006 (UTC)
All right. Thanks for your help Seqsea (talk) 06:26, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Verdienstmedaille-der-NVA2.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Verdienstmedaille-der-NVA2.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Svencb 14:05, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] PFC Johnson II

I am not trying to be stubborn, just upholding what I feel are the requirements of having articles on Wikipedia. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 01:19, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] About the Jessica Lynch story

Hello. I noticed you edited the Jessica Lynch story by reverting it to a previous post which removed my entries. Let me say two things:

  • I added the "illegal" word when describing the invasion of Iraq and I also added a reference to that word with a journal article entitled ""Iraq war illegal, says Annan". It seems to me that the fact that [Kofi Annan] affirms tjat this war is illegal is a justification to add the word illegal.
  • I also added :"jessica accused the military of lying and inventing stories about her heroic acts for their own benefit". For me this seems to be the main point of the Jessica Lynch story. If you are a U.S. citizen, I understand that you might have a different opinion. However, it seems to me that the "rest of the world" sees this story as just another fabricated story made by the Pentagon to manipulate the public opinion.

Thanks and please feel free to comment or reply to me, SeiteNichtGefunden. 7 May 2007

[edit] I corrected your vandalism of Military Logistics

I had to correct the changes you made because the original claim that logistics is "not an exact science" belies a broader misunderstanding of science in general. Scientific measurement is reduction of uncertainty, not necessarilly the ellimination of it. Whether you think its self-promotion or not, it is a legitimate example of how statistical methods improved on the judgements of experts. Please research the sources before just elliminating the changes.

  • Hubbardaie - I disagree with your point of view. This is not vandalism. Per Wikipidia on Vandalism, "Any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia, even if misguided or ill-considered, is not vandalism. Apparent bad-faith edits that do not make their bad-faith nature inarguably explicit are not considered vandalism at Wikipedia. For example, adding a personal opinion once is not vandalism — it's just not helpful, and should be removed or restated." Ehrentitle 13:09, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

(Moved from my user page) Ehrentitle 18:17, 30 June 2007 (UTC) I'm pasting the same comment I made in military logistics talk and COI noticeboard below:

  • In retrospect, I can see excluding my point for an article that short. I could see it as a subsection or a separate article. The military logistics article should be much longer. I compared it to the length of the artillery page and infantry page. I think it should be at least as long as those.Hubbardaie 17:59, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Banner_of_Labor1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Banner_of_Labor1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:40, 31 March 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 17:40, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] 14th Quartermaster Detachment

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 14th Quartermaster Detachment, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.qmfound.com/14th_Quartermaster_Detachment.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:24, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
