[edit] Notation
(I'm not a topologist.) To me, the notation S^n(2) seems to be unfortunate. After all, it is not the space which is localised (?), but only the homotopy group. So one should explain what kind of "fibration" gives a long exact sequence only for the localizations of the homotopy groups. Jakob.scholbach 21:21, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
- It is indeed the space that is localized. R.e.b. 17:44, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
I was under the impression that EHP computes unstable stems. Look a the title of Mahowald's article. I am not confident enough to change it, but i will in a bit unless someone convinces me it is in fact stable. also, the notation is not proper for the localization, it should be a subscript in parentheses. It is also the case that it is in general a bad form of notation because it really means do thus and such for everything BUT 2 or p if you will. Sean Tilson 2:23, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
