Yes in English, but the Serbian word for "gypsy" is "cigan", which do not means "egyptian", and Gypsies are officialy named Roma in Serbia and Montenegro, while declared Egyptians are recognized as a separate ethnic group. PANONIAN (talk) 21:15, 29 November 2005 (UTC)

Is it "Magjup" an Albanian name for Egyptians instead for Roma? "Magjup" is similar to Serbian name "Đupci" that designate Egyptians and I also read that Albanian name for Roma is "Cigan". Can somebody explain these recent changes in the article? PANONIAN (talk) 14:58, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

I think it is quite clear. Magjup in Kosova Albanian is the same as Cigan or Dupci in Slavic. Cigan is only used in Albania, while here we are talking about people living in Kosova.--Pjetër Bogdani III 15:03, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Problem is that Serbian name "Đupci" is used only to designate Egyptians, not Roma, while word "Cigani" is used for Roma. You say that Albanian word "Magjup" is name for Roma and "Egjiptian" for Egyptians, but these words are similar to Serbian names "Đupci" and "Egipćani" (both of them designation for Egyptians). It is clear that Albanian word "Magjup" and Serbian "Đupci" are of same origin, but how can be that Albanian word is designation for Roma, and Serbian for Egyptians? It is not quite logical. Albanian word for "Cigani" is Cergash, Cergash-i. Sebian name "Đupci" is commen from Kosovo, Magjupi, beacose a serb (not only serbian) mane hase problem to say this combination Magjupi. This peopel comes from Misir (today Egjypten), they was bay and salle in Balkan in Ottoman time. There is one another term Ashkali, this grup it can be thate are some caind of "Araps" from Egjipt. This term hase somthing to do with sebians or slavs (Shkau-Skau for the peopel (volk) witch from Orthodox Mother Church in Stamboll was definetet als arond peopel, arond landers.
