Egidius de Francia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Egidius de Francia, also known as Magister Egidius, was a French medieval composer. He may have been an Augustinian monk, as in a miniature illumination, he is titled Magister Egidius Augustinus. He is considered as likely being distinct from another Egidius, who was a contemporary Italian poet.

He is featured in the London Manuscript (British Library, #29987), and the Manuscript Estense/Modena alpha.M.5.24 (olim lat. 568) - better known with the sigla ModA.
