[edit] Ram Janma...
It might not have been your intent, but you recently removed content from Ram Janmabhoomi. Please be careful not to remove content from Wikipedia without a valid reason, which you should specify in the edit summary or on the article's talk page. Thank you. Alf melmac 11:50, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- There are guidelines for this at Wikipedia:Resolving disputes. For the article itself, it is usually better to start with one or more of the appropriate templates listed at Wikipedia:Template messages/Disputes --Alf melmac 12:14, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's not really my subject, so my understanding of these perspectives is limited. It looks to me though that some the problem lies in the vast swathes of information about the 2003 ASI report, maybe that should become its own article and have a main article section only, I did raise my eyes at the rough second paragraph I admit and suggest that you still do as you did here and consider using a named account to make a better go at the ASI coverage. If the Wikipedia:WikiProject Hinduism isn't already aware of it, I would suggest also posting there. --Alf melmac 12:35, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
Thanks a bunch, mate. I seem to havelost my password. The new one's taking awfully long to come in. Sorry, I digress. While I was edited the section, I found it misconstrued. The citations were either lifted from Hindu propaganda websites or twisted from neutral ones. [Eggman64]
You might find Wikipedia:Article size and Wikipedia:How to break up a page good reference points, particularly the section on Breaking out a controversial section on the Article size style guide. --Alf melmac 13:04, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Carnegy
The link you told me says we should cite like this
- <Web page>, which cites <book>, or
- <Book>, cited at <web page>.
If we use this
- P. Carnegy: A Historical Sketch of Tehsil Fyzabad, Lucknow 1870, cited by Harsh Narain (1993): The Ayodhya Temple Mosque Dispute: Focus on Muslim Sources, New Delhi: Penman Publications. ISBN 818550416 p.8-9, and by Peter Van der Veer: Religious Nationalism, p.153
then it is clear that it is cited from Narain or Van der Veer, and the reader also knows which source Narain or Van der Veer is citing. This is more exact.--Msiev 15:44, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Tenant_dvd.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] Airport Hill article
Hi Eggman-- Thanks for your suggestions about the Airport Hill, North Bay article. The name Airport Hill is not just a local name -- it's also used in some reference sources, and the name Wallace Heights is used in others. What I meant was that local residents never call it Wallace Heights. I've made some changes to clarify this, but should I resubmit the article instead? Geoffster 07:05, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

Are you going to fill this in, or not? It was your AFD.--Rmky87 15:15, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ansikte mot ansikte.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Ansikte mot ansikte.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Gay Cdn (talk) (Contr.) 01:45, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Itcltd.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Itcltd.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:18, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image source problem with Image:Tbg weight.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Tbg weight.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 20:26, 21 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 20:26, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Tbg weight.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Tbg weight.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 20:26, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:TBGband.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:TBGband.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:58, 25 October 2007 (UTC)
