Barbara Shack 18:26, 18 January 2006 (UTC)I added an image of an Hour glass. The image already links to the Hourglass article. There is permission to copy it. Barbara Shack 17:24, 19 January 2006 (UTC)I added an explanation why timing is needed. People from Non-western cultures frequently don't boil eggs in the shell. Therefore I gave a thorough explanation.
Barbara Shack 15:03, 4 February 2006 (UTC)I wrote, "In Britain during the 20th Century traditional hourglass egg timers were frequently sold as Souvenirs at Tourist attractions." I then checked with some one who has been on holiday more recently than I have. My informant assures me that are still sold as tourist souvenirs. If my informant was wrong the article may need modification.

Would it be more accurate to say only that the 'egg timer measures a set amount of time'? The time to cook an egg is not a static figure, it depends on many variables. The purpose was to help you cook an egg, but that is not what the device measures. Flimsyq (talk) 03:53, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
