Egge

Coordinates: 64°04′N, 11°33′E Egge (also Egge Herad) is a former municipality in Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. Originally (from 1837) it was a part of Stod formannskapsdistrikt, but Egge became a municipality of its own on January 1, 1869. At that time Egge had a population of 941.

In 1948 a part of Egge with 48 inhabitants was moved to Steinkjer municipality.

On 1 January 1964 Egge merged with Beitstad, Kvam, Ogndal, Sparbu, Steinkjer and Stod to form the enlarged Steinkjer municipality. Before the merger Egge had a population of 3,476.
