Edy Vasquez (born October 31, 1983 - died May 12, 2007) was a Honduran football Midfielder, who played for Motagua. He died in a hospital in the morning of May 12th, following a car crash in Colonia Las Brisas. Vasquez played 63 matches wearing Motagua's blue shirt and scored 7 times. His first game was on April 3, 2004, a 3-2 loss against Real España in the Estadio Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula.

His last game was on April 29, 2007 with a 1-0 win over Marathon. His first goal was on March 13, 2005 in a 2-1 win against Victoria in Tegucigalpa which he scored in the last minute. His last goal was against Hispano on October 5, 2006 in Tegucigalpa. He suffered from a Tibia and Fibula fracture leaving him out for most of the 2006 - 2007 season. He played for Honduras during 2 games when Flavio Ortega was the coach. Vasquez died on May 11, 2007 as a result of a car accident.

Vasquez was recently called to play for the National team which is participating for the Gold Cup 2007 tournament. His number on both the national and the club team were both #16. Due to the tragic death of Edy Vasquez, the club team Motagua is retiring his jersey number in respect of his loyalty to the team.
