[edit] Pellew and Patrick O'Brien

I agree with the assesment of Pellew as related to H. Hornblower, but Pellew himself also shared some charcteristics with Captain Aubrey of O'Brian's novels, particularly as a lifesaver. Aubrey repeatedly pulls members of his crews from the water, even Dr. Mautrin in one of the novels... any thoughts about adding this to the article, or is this too insignifigant? V. Jack Absolute is a completely different character and Pellew is almost deliberately avoided by Patrick O'Brian, escept in third person anecdotes. Dabbler (talk) 04:45, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
