Birthplace was Loppington, Shropshire, accoring to The Welsh Biography online (and to Wikipedia Loppington page).

[edit] Spelling

Edward and his contemporaries definitely spelled his name Lhuyd. I have a copy of Pryce's 1790 Archæologia Cornu-Britannica here and that spelling is all through it. Evertype 17:12, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
