[edit] Merger of Edward Knight Collins and Collins Line
I guess this makes sense because one cannot be mentioned without the other. -- Emana 22:03, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- No not, under any circumstances, get rid of the article "Collins Line" - It suffered through several sinkings. WhisperToMe 17:15, 8 April 2007 (UTC)
- Opposed - The Collins Line ships are notable as the biggest steamships (excepting one ship) built anywhere at the time of their construction around 1850. Additionally, Collins Line ships won the Blue Riband for fastest transatlantic crossings five times. Lastly, the Collins Line suffered two dramatic losses, with its Arctic sunk following a collision in 1854 (loss of life approximately 320), and its Pacific lost at sea in 1856 with approximately 200 aboard. I am currently working on an article about the Arctic's sinking, and will be fleshing out the Collins Line article in the process. Maralia 18:31, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Ok, sure. No problem then. We'll hold on the merge until there's a substantial change to the Collins Line article and revisit. -- Emana 16:31, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
