[edit] Some Basics
Overall, it is pretty fair, but also not very complete. I don't think you were attempting that, so it isn't really a complaint about your writing. We need to identify some of the standard bigraphical questions that this article should answer:
When was Cashman born? Is he married? Where did he attend school? Did he hold any other jobs previously? Who appointed him to the bench and when? Are there any other notable cases he has taken part in?
His recent resignation should be added as well.
