Hi, I've had this question on the talk thermodynamics page since August, but know one seems to know his first name. Today I received a copy of his 1949 book, but it gives no bio? Even a few well-published thermodynamicist associates of mine don't know his first name? We'll have to keep searching for this info. Please add data if you know any.
