Edwin D. Harrison

Edwin Davies Harrison (January 8, 1916 – October 23, 2001) was the sixth president of Georgia Tech, from 1957 to 1969.[1][2] It was in Harrison's honor that the first 'T' was stolen.[1]
He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served in the Navy until 1945. He then earned a master's in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1948, and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in 1952.[3]
