Edward S. Marcus High School is one of five main high schools in the Lewisville Independent School District, Texas. The school opened in 1981 and was the second high school in the district. The school is named after Edward S. Marcus, part of the Marcus family known for the Neiman-Marcus department stores, who donated the land to the school district. It services students who live in northern Flower Mound, Highland Village, and Copper Canyon.

Marcus' mascot is the Marauder whose imagery mimics the Texas Tech's Masked Rider. There have been four different costumes for the mascot, the most recent introduced in 2004.

[edit] Athletics

The Marauders football team made it to the 5A-division II state championships in 1995 and 1997, winning in the latter year. Every Year, Marcus has two rivalries in football. "The Mound Showdown" is the game against Flower Mound High School. Flower Mound has won the game the past 5 years. The 2005-2006 school year is the first time that the game has been played in Texas Stadium The second rivalry is "The Battle of the Axe", played against Lewisville High School. This rivalry is the more historic of the two, dating back to when Marcus and Lewisville were the only two high schools in the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD).

The girls soccer team won the Texas state championships in 2005.[2] The boys soccer team capped off a perfect 30–0 season by winning the 2007 5A state title defeating Plano West, 3–2.[3]
