Edward J. Scott

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edward J. Scott is an American soap opera producer. He married Young and the Restless actress, Melody Thomas Scott in October 1985, and they have three daughters. In 2005, Edward and Melody renewed their vows in a lavish wedding ceremony.

His firing by Sony Pictures in 2001 from Y&R stemmed from his on-going feud with Kay Alden and David Shaughnessy, as reported by Soap Opera Weekly and SoapOperaCentral. Sony Pictures Television wanted Scott to join the crew of the NBC Daytime's ratings challenged Days of Our Lives, so he left his position as Supervising Producer on The Young & The Restless.[citation needed] Since joining Days of Our Lives, and working under Ken Corday, Scott has hired former colleagues such as Mike Denney, Marnie Saitta (Casting Director), Noel Maxam (Supervising Producer/Director) and Kathryn Foster (Director).
