Edward Campbell

Edward Campbell (born 26 August 1916, Glasgow, died 4 April 2006, Tunbridge Wells) was a Fleet Street journalist, and an acknowledged authority on circuses and the training of wild animals.[1]
Campbell began his journalistic career in the late 1930s with Kemsley Newspapers in Glasgow. He moved to Fleet Street in 1956, where he worked for the Evening Standard and the Sunday Dispatch.[1][2]
Campbell also wrote books, one of them being The People of the Secret. This book examines relationships between various spiritual streams (such as spiritual alchemy, John G. Bennett, G. I. Gurdjieff, Idries Shah and Sufism generally) and was published under the pseudonym Ernest Scott.[1][3]
