Edward Burman

Edward Burman (born May 6, 1947) is an English author, born in Cambridge. He is best known for his books on aspects of European history and culture, written from a European perspective. Though written for a general reader, the books are based on original sources. He has also written one historical novel, The Image Of Our Lord (1990).

Burman studied philosophy at the University of Leeds, and has lived in Iran and Italy. He presently lives in Beijing.
