Edward Borges is an award-winning writer and an independent film producer.
Presently, he is producing with Rick Schwartz, Salma Hayek, and Jose Tamez, La Banda, a Spanish-language romantic comedy set in Mexico City, starring Hayek, and written by Issa López.
Previously, he was a motion picture literary agent at International Creative Management (ICM), the talent and literary agency. Formerly, he was a contributing writer at Los Angeles magazine, The New York Observer, and The Village Voice and a staff reporter for The New York Daily News and The Miami Herald. While at the News, he won three Associated Press Managing Editors Awards for Writing and was nominated by his editors for the Pulitzer Prize for News. He also came up with the name for the highly popular website, The Smoking Gun.
He lives in Brooklyn, New York.
