[edit] Who I Be

I am Anne and I live in Indiana. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Purdue University in both Sociology and Gender Studies. My main areas of research included gender and queer sexuality as represented in blogging and vlogging.

My general academic interests include the following: computer-mediated communication, critical theory, social theory, feminist theory, media studies, pedagogy, queer studies, semiotics, and the sociology of knowledge. More recently, I'm interested in how folks use technology to find information and gather knowledge, and in figuring out how to help them do just that. Getting into classrooms and helping teachers and students effectively use technology and the Internet to further their knowledge would be awesome.

What I do with my spare time (of which I currently have a lot of): knit, take photographs, design websites, and read all the non-fiction I can.

I have been aware of Wikipedia since its inception, but only recently created an account in July 2006.

I have made minor changes to articles regarding spelling and grammar, as these things annoy me most, but look forward to helping to build better pages in my areas of interest.
