[edit] My concerns.

This is very derogatory and must I say unnecessary? This very much hurts my feelings, for I have grown up with this school system, although I now attend the Westport public school system.

You must NOT say unnecessary! Bad news must be considered with the good, or we'll never get at the truth or create a situation where the truth is better. Please help by providing more information in this article, good or bad.Noroton 22:33, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Norwalk doesn't have the fundings to create a better school system, don't you see? Gentlyfloatingabout 01:30, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bolding

I think that this article has too much bolded text. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (text formatting). Nationalparks 13:35, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. TJ0513 13:15, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
The excess bolding has been removed. 67.86.73.252 (talk) 00:27, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox ?

So which Infobox is supposed to be used for an article on the Education within a city that goes from Pre-K through Associates degrees and includes public, private, and parochial schools? 67.86.73.252 (talk) 00:51, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Infobox Education

This {{Template:Infobox Education}} seems to list a "National education budget" no matter what. This template seems better suited to a national education article (e.g. Education in the United States):

[edit] Infobox School District

The {{Template:Infobox School District}} does not seem to be able to cover the parochial schools or the post secondary schools like Norwalk Community College, Gibbs, and University of Phoenix. I note that the article Education in New York City does not have an Infobox, but that the article New York City Department of Education has one of these:

Notes on figures:

Norwalk, Connecticut
Public School District
Budget $133 million
Established 1678
Grades K-12
Superintendent Dr. Salvatore Corda
Students 11000
Athletic Conference FCIAC
Location Southwestern Connecticut, Fairfield County

[edit] Proposal for section reorganization and renaming

I think the sections within this article are intermixed between those that pertain to subjects about the Norwalk Public School District and those that do not. In particular the current sections are:

  1. Norwalk public schools
  2. Post-secondary education
  3. High schools
  4. Middle schools
    1. Ponus Ridge Middle School
  5. Elementary schools
  6. Side by Side Community School District
  7. Radon levels in 2007-2008
  8. Parochial
  9. No Child Left Behind Act in Norwalk
  10. District Reference Group H

I'd like to move the post secondary section to the top, and the non Norwalk public schools section to the bottom so that all the Norwalk Public School material is consolidated as subsections of it (in the middle of the article). More explicitly I'd prefer to see:

  1. Post-secondary education
  2. Norwalk public schools
    1. High schools
    2. Middle schools
      1. Ponus Ridge Middle School
    3. Elementary schools
    4. Radon levels in 2007-2008 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.86.73.252 (talk) 22:20, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
    5. No Child Left Behind Act in Norwalk
    6. District Reference Group H
  3. Norwalk private and parochial schools
    1. Charter school
    2. Parochial

where the new subsection "Charter school" corresponds to the old "Side by Side Community School District". Would anyone object to such a change? Thanks. 67.86.73.252 (talk) 00:12, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Sounds great to me. That's a much better organization. Noroton (talk) 01:04, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for the approval. By consolidating the Norwalk Public School district information into the single section within the article I felt better about adding the Infobox School District template into just that section. I might see about uploading the district seal to use as an image within the Infobox next. 67.86.73.252 (talk) 23:22, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
I've found a URL with an image of the Norwalk Public Schools logo at this location. Although I'd like to see it in the Infobox I suspect that the criteria and rules for image uploading are now so strict that I will not ask for it to be uploaded. Please click on the hyperlink here if you want to see the logo. 67.86.73.252 (talk) 12:26, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
