[edit] School Cancellation Paragraph
Does anyone really think we need such a huge paragraph on this topic? Do we really believe users are turning to Wikipedia for this information? I'm going propose that anyone who even knows about wikipedia probably already knows where to get their school cancelation information. This should be deleted. Jakerforever 18:21, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't have a strong opinion on it, but it seems to me the article is really very short and this is near the bottom, so, because someone stuck it on and because it might have some marginal value, I'm in favor of keeping it. I just don't see that it does any harm and I can imagine someone would find it useful. There's a case to be made against it, too, which is why I don't really feel strongly about it. I hope you'll wait to see if someone else supports eliminating it. Let's take it off the main Darien article though, where I think it also is. I'd be interested in seeing what other people think. - Well, if you would allow me to respectfully disagree, existence in no way implies value! - and sometimes there's an aesthetic cost.

- Actually, I don't see any value in the paragraph at all. A read of the list shows that it's not exactly a treasure hunt to find information on school closings - it might as well read "look anywhere obvious to find information on school closings". It might be worthwhile to save that link (halfway through) for an external links section if the rest is deleted. But at the end of the day, I can't see anyone turning to wikipedia for this information (i.e., the information on where to find the information). But we can see what others think. I agree, it is harmless to leave it, and costless to eliminate as well - we'll see. Jakerforever 14:25, 22 March 2007 (UTC)
- It's been two months...let's try the page without this paragraph a while(?)...I'm going to remove it now, it can always be replaced. I still think it shouldn't be here. Jakerforever 13:42, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
