Educational Talent Search

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Educational Talent Search (ETS) is one of eight United States federal TRIO programs. It was created as part of the Higher Education Act of 1965. The program identifies junior high and high school students with which to implement intervention strategies meant to increase the chances of the student pursuing a college education. There are currently more than 475 ETS programs in the U.S. serving more than 389,000 students.[1]

[edit] Requirements

At least two-thirds of the students in each local ETS program must be from low-income economic backgrounds or from families where no immediate family member has a college education. [2] ETS is a grant-funded program. Local programs are required to demonstrate that they meet federal requirements every four years in order to maintain funding.
