My main interest is in heraldry, particularly the contemporary scene.
To most people heraldry is an arcane and ancient discipline, and they do not realise it is alive and kicking, nay thriving (more grants of arms have been made in the last 50 years than in the whole of its previous history). The celebrities of heraldry are largely unknown even to the well-educated public and therefore articles about them are sooner or later nominated for deletion and receive little support for retention, likewise articles on highly specialised areas of heraldry. I aim to defend such articles when worthy.
I want to see more of the contemporary personalities of heraldry represented on Wikipedia, such as Ralph Brocklebank (originator and editor of Dragonlore), Stephen Clackson (heraldic humorist) and Anthony Maxwell (heraldic on-line fora facilitator), to name but a few. The first two have already had articles about them deleted from Wikipedia, on that basis what would be the fate of one on the third?
