Talk:Edmund Beaufort, 1st Duke of Somerset
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The son of John Baufort, 1st Earl of Somerset, with the same name John Beaufort is said to be the 1st Duke of Somerset (see there).
So why Edmund should be the 1st? The page "Edmund Beaufort, 2nd Duke of Somerset" ist redirected to "Edmund Beaufort, 1st Duke of Somerset". Is that correct?
- The title Duke of Somerset was created twice, in 1443 and 1448 (as well as some other times). Each time the title is created/recreated, the numbering starts again from one.Richard75 18:57, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
