Edmundo Zura

Edmundo Salomón Zura de Jesus (born 12 January 1983 in Ibarra, Ecuador), also known as Edmundo Zura, is an Ecuadorian footballer.

Zura played for Imbabura SC in the Campeonato Ecuatoriano de Fútbol. He was called up to the Ecuadorian national team by the Colombian coach Luis Fernando Suarez and earned his first cap in a October 2006 friendly against Brazil. He scored his first international goal on 21 January 2007 against Sweden. He also led the U-20 side to victory at the 2007 Pan American Games. He scored three goals in that tournament, securing the first international tournament that Ecuador has ever won. He signed a deal in January 2008 with Barcelona of Guayaquil, Ecuador's most popular club.
