Edmonds, Washington is a station stop for the Amtrak's Empire Builder and Cascades. Edmonds is also a stop on Sound Transit's Sounder north line. Currently, there are three southbound Sounder departures during morning rush hour, with three return trips in the afternoon. The station, platform, and parking are owned by BNSF Railway. [1][2]

Sound Transit is planning to relocate Edmonds station as part of the larger Edmonds Crossing Multi-modal project being led by the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). The location of the preferred alternative for the multi-modal project in the Final EIS would relocate the station south of Edmonds marina, near Point Edwards. Construction of the US$237 million project is scheduled to begin summer 2012. [3] An interim US$12.9 million project to add a west platform, shelters, and new lighting to the current station is scheduled to begin in late 2007.[4]
