Edmar Aparecida often known as simply Edmar is a professional Brazilian football player, currently playing for FC Metalist Kharkiv in Ukrainian Premier League.
[edit] Career
Edmar started his professional career at the age of 19 playing for Brazilian club Internacional, in 2001 he was noticed by scouts of Ukrainian club Tavriya Simferopol, however negotiations broke down over price dispute, and only in 2002 Edmar was able to transfer to Simferopol. He soon established himself as a talented playmaker and since 2004 Edmar became Tavria's captain, thus making him the first foreigner to captain the club.
In August 2007 Edmar signed a two year deal with Metalist Kharkiv. On September 20, 2007 Edmar made his UEFA Cup debut against English Premier League side Everton FC at Goodison Park. The Brazilian scored to earn Metalist a famous 1-1 draw against the English club. Two weeks later Edmar scored again against Everton in the second leg but could do nothing to prevent Metalist losing the tie 3-2.
