[edit] Zouavman Le Zouave

Zouavman Le Zouave (talk · contribs) I, Zouavman Le Zouave, have been contributing to Wikipedia for more than a year, and I would like to know what I'm doing right, and, more importantly what I'm doing wrong. I know many of the things I have done wrong in the past, and this is why I would consider focusing on my most recent contributions (last couple of months). Reviews

I checked some of your content contributions, namely the two articles you linked in your answer to question 1. Your ability to write about contemporary musical groups seems solid, and you should continue to work on articles in that area. Heaven knows how many musical groups there are these days. Some have articles on Wikipedia that should be deleted (see WP:MUSICfor notability guidelines), but others that belong on Wikipedia are not there yet, or are stubs (see Category:Musical group stubs).

I read your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Metalcore. I saw that you were frustrated by the process because you, as a metalcore fan, thought "Mallcore" was a notable term, but most other people, who are not fans, thought otherwise. Notability is often judged by people who are not experts in a particular field, and to some extent this makes sense, but regardless, you have to learn to live with it. That discussion took place in December 2006. A year later, I hope and expect that you have matured and learned a little more about community norms. Indeed, your expertise might help in making heads or tails in the vast mess of music articles that float daily into Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. There is a link that will give you AFDs for music articles only, not for other articles.

I wish you good luck. Shalom (HelloPeace) 03:08, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I haven't started a lot of articles on my time on Wikipedia. However, among the articles that I did create, I am particularly proud of my work on Aarni. I think this is probably because this band had very few information available and that the article covers almost all of the available data about the band. All of the article was sourced and properly cited, which made me particularly happy. I was also very proud about my work with the Mikko Härkin article, which I completely rewrote.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
In my beginnings in Wikipedia, I had a very impulsive, immature, and extreme attitude. This has got me in several editing conflicts, first on the Disturbed article, most notably with twsx, and then with the Mallcore article, which was repeatedly attacked by vandalism. With time, I understood that my ways were not always the best, and I did my best to improve my relationships with other Wikipedians. Whenever there was a problem with an article or page, I did my best to resolve the problem calmly and in a civil manner. I plan to continue to display this attitude in the future.
