SteveBaker (talk ยท contribs) I've been thinking about going for Adminship - so maybe this is a good time for a review. I've been on WP since April'05 - but didn't really start working seriously on articles until July'05. I have one FA to my name (Mini) and a dozen or so other articles that I work on intensively. Recent grief with a 'rogue' user (User:Wiarthurhu) has given me a new respect for WP's processes and leads me to believe that I could be a good sysop. Thanks for your time.

Questions
- Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- Well 'my' FA Mini - by making it to FA, it allowed me to understand the processes involved. That was my favorite. I may have learned more from my failed FA MINI (BMW). I'm working with some others on a rewrite of the Computer article (the rewrite is off in Computer/Temp right now) - that's going to be fun.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- There has been a terrible amount of grief surrounding User:Wiarthurhu on a bunch of automobile-related sites (AMC Matador being the most notable). The guy finally scored an indefinite ban - and that event is one of the things that makes me think I need to get involved in being a sysop. I first tried to be neutral - when it became very aparrent that this guy was utterly 'out there' I tried to lower the 'heat' in the debate. I worked on some AfD's related to his bogus contributions. He eventually got first a short ban, then a longer one - then finally and indefinite ban. I was really happy when it was over. We spend far too much of our time doing this stuff compared to writing articles. Aside from that, nothing very major has blown up in my face yet. There have been routine vandalism events (I couldn't count the number of reverts I've had to do on Computer) - and a fair amount of linkspam infecting Mini that I had to deal with by carrying out a protracted debate with the offender (who didn't believe what he was doing was wrong). But aside from the Wiarthurhu event - no major bust ups.
