[edit] Spawn Man

Spawn Man (talk · contribs) Hi everyone! I've been under the radar for a month or two now & was wondering what everyone still thought of me. I was recently nominated for RfA by another user, but was under no illusions what the outcome would be, so declined. So I thoguht I'd place myself up for review here to see what I can do to make myself ready for the next I'm nominated if I so choose to accept & actually when that time to accept should be. Anything about me would help too. Mainly, what's my argu-meter level at to other people, how's my edit count, edit summary, XfD participation etc etc. Anyway, don't be afraid to rip into me - I can take it. Cheers. • Well you've come a long way since the last one I saw, and you're heading the right way again—good to see. :) As for not joining in the same WikiProject as you…well I did have something to say about those people but I'm not going to. As for RfA, I know I would support you but sadly few other people will, and you just have to let time erase bad feeling for a while. The only real criticism-type thing I have for you is: for busy Wikipedians (which I joke about myself being one but in reality I'm not), the fake messages bar can be annoying, and I got dinged for having one in my first review. But I think that's about all I have for now. :) —  $PЯIПGrαgђ  20:38, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
    • Yeah, I've been told to remove it before, but for now whilst I'm in my un-adminhood, I think I'll keep it. For sure though, if a RfA comes my way, it'll be removed. Thanks for being honest - I knew nobody would support any RfA of mine. However, I do seriously doubt time will mend things; some people just never forgive... Spawn Man 01:20, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I'm pleased about most of my contributions article-wise. Dinosaur, which I got up to standard on my own is my highlight for my "career" at Wikipedia. My other 3 FAs, although predominantly a team effort, I am also proud of as well as my Featured List. My second biggest highlight would have to be the Dinosaur Portal which I helped create & move to Featured status. My third biggest highlight would have to be my contributions to Jewellery which I got to A Grade in less than 24 hours (Although it was later demoted to GA), as well as the offshoot article Jewellery in the Pacific. Other than those, I have enjoyed creating biological articles such as Yanoconodon and Kaganaias & rewriting other articles such as Zsasz. So yeah, pleased is about right for most of my "creations" - I really do enjoy writing -- Spawn Man 05:39, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes, yes & yes. And some. I feel this is my main problem on this site - my demenour & relationships with other editors. I get on quite well with a lot of people on here, but I don't get on with just as many. I've recently (last few months) had arguments with User:Daniel, User:Sheep81, User:John.Conway, User:Doug Bell & many others, including "historic" incidents. Admittedly, most have been misunderstandings on my part & the other party's, but I'm not going to lie, I have been a lot of arguments & this has tarnished my reputation significantly. In fact some users wont even join the same wikiproject as me because they think I'll pester them, which is untrue unless they give me a reason to & only then if it's a major issue. It's more stressful for me to hear how much people don't like me & how I argue with everyone - hearing this from people I haven't even spoken to simply because they've heard it from someone else causes me to be even crankier! I know I've got myself to blame, but it's hard to change when everyone's already putting down bets against you - even my own friends on here admitted they didn't believe me. So yeah, a bit of a downward cycle & it's annoying how people think I'm angry or emotional when I'm not. I've got no emotion practically - I'm like Joan Rviers on Botox day. ;) I just use descriptive words, but meh, no one believes me. So anyway, to answer the questions. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? Yes & yes. How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future? Answers are: badly &: I was hoping you'd tell me how to deal with it. So yeah, cheers -- Spawn Man 05:39, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
