[edit] O

O (talk · contribs) Hello, I am the renamed user vishwin60, and would like some advice on how I can improve how I am while editing here. I am currently recovering from a low editing period, partly since I was in the PRC for a month, but also because some stuff happened here that made me so angry I couldn't do anything. Fortunately all that have passed and I am still trying to improve as a user, as with my last editor review. Additionally, I am an admin on Commons. O () 19:08, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Reviews

  • Review by Moonriddengirl Since you've had a lot of these already, most recently in June of this year, I've made a rather narrow focus, looking at the last two months. I'd like to note that your username makes evaluating your contributions sometimes more difficult, particularly in complex policy discussions. (I can't use my usual search habits but have to find your contributions in the history and locate them in context through that rather more laborious process.) All that said, this is, I think, going to be the shortest editor review I've ever made—or certainly up there. I've been looking through your history for about an hour, and I've been extremely nit-picky given your experience. I looked mostly deeply at your contributions to various discussions of policy. RfA and XfD, which are considerable. You seem articulate and by-and-large committed to follow-through. I'd suggest that if you're making comments on other people's comments, you might want to watch it in case further elucidation is needed, as at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Wisdom89. And that's about all I have to offer. You know what you're doing; keep it up. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 17:58, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
  • Review by OhanaUnited I hope you still watchlist this page. Well, your edits across different categories are well-spread. My advice to you is try to interact more with other community members. Use article talk pages more often. This is the best way to know others and who knows? One day one of those people may nominate you at WP:RFA. Good luck. Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I will have to say that my best contribution to this encyclopedia is to U.S. Route 322 in New Jersey, since it made DYK as it was concurrent with different state highways its entire length. Other than that, I am currently focused on improving People's Republic of China articles, since I've noticed that they aren't as good as they can be.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I almost always at least try to have a discussion with the other parties involved to work out a mutually acceptable solution. I did, however, have an incident with a new user on the U.S. Route 50 article. That for some reason was one of my bad days, and I have since apologized about what had happened. My foremost principles when dealing with this stuff is to remain civil and keep a cool head at all times, assume good faith, and tell others to do the same if they are not.
