Nat.tang (talk • contribs • count • logs • email) Hi Y'all, I've been an active editor/user for about the last 4 months and I would just like to hear the opinions of other editors, as well as to keep myself and my editing in check. I would love to hear any comments, questions, or concerns you might have about me or my editing. Nat Tang ta | co | em 01:41, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Reviews
I'm sorry we haven't reviewed you for more than a month. This is a systemic problem with Editor Review, and I'll examine ways to fix it.
I've seen you primarily at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, and your participation there is reasonable and consistent. I am impressed by the diversity of your contributions and your collaborative attitude. You wrote the following in a comment to Tingming at Wikipedia talk:Suspected sock puppets/TingMing:
here at Wikipedia, we are a community, and as a community we must learn to work together even if it means that we have to humble ourselves and sacrifice our POVs to maintain the integrity and cleanliness of Wikipedia. It is so satisfying to work with other people without the name calling, labelling, insulting – the things that can cause tensions, stress, and conflicts. To do any of that we must break the barriers that cause the unneeded conflicts, tensions, and the stress.
Those are words to live by. I learn something from each editor review I do (by now that's almost a hundred, I think), and I've learned something from you.
Your answer to the question about conflicts seemed a little long-winded to me. I don't take issue with long-windedness in writing: everyone is prone to it. But it reflects a sense that you haven't really moved past that incident. I've never been involved in any conflict of a similar magnitude, so I can't relate.
I've nominated several users for adminship. Normally I nominate only when I'm nearly certain of success, and I'm not certain in your case because standards at RFA are higher than they used to be, but I'd give it a shot. I think four months is enough experience, especially given your successful resolution of a conflict and your multiple reports to the various administrative noticeboards. Please leave me a note if you are interested. Shalom Hello 02:59, 25 September 2007 (UTC)

Questions
- Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- Yup...my recent creation of an infobox for UofT Colleges: |--> 1 <--| (btw...thank you to KFP and Anomie for helping me :D ...). Why am I particularly pleased with it? Well...it was my first non-UBX template (and because it took me a long time to figure out the code...)...that is why I am please with it :D :P
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Hell yeh...(chuckles). For me, there was one particular person: TingMing (talk · contribs) and his SOCKs. He would just constantly try to push his POV, attacked other editors with personal attacks, reject all other edits, refused to listen to friendly advise, and even created a few SOCKs to vandalize the userpages of people who had confronted and had dealt with him and his uncivil behaviour. At first, I thought that he was just a person someone could reason with, but then his true colours shown after dealing with him for a while. I tell you he is one vicious person. Well, in the end, his main user, TingMing (talk · contribs), (at least I think it's his main user), was banned indef. for distruptive editing, vandalism, personal attacks, sockpuppetry, and I think the list goes on but I can't quite remember. He comes back once in a while, in the form of a SOCK, to push POV and vandalize userpages, but always results in him being banned. How have I dealt with it? Well, I first tried talking to him, then after it became apparent that he wasn't going to listen, after the indef. ban, and after the SOCK attacks, I did a bit of requesting here and there and got my userpage semi-protect as to prevent and stop any immediate vandalism of my user page by this person and other misguided people who view me and my user as a threat (I don't know why they would think that...oh well). How will I deal with something like this in the future? Well, I would firstly try to avoid pulling myself into a conflict if necessary, and then if that isn't possible, talk it out with the person, find out why there is a conflict and try to resolve it peacefully through compromise, friendly, not forceful, advice, and try to negotiate a middle/common ground. If that doesn't work then there always options through the official channels, i.e. ArbComm or Mediation.
