[edit] Magnus animum
Magnus animum (talk · contribs) Hi everyone. My account is 8 months old, but I have only been actively contributing in the past few months. I wish to become an administrator in the near future as I do a lot of administrative tasks already and am involved in the Admin coaching program with Husond filling the role of my coach. I am heavily involved in MOTD, in which I participate every day. I've filled a lot of the holes that were mentioned in my last Peer review (such as more XfDs / article writing). If you want to see my complete log of questions, go here. Currently I have 3 adoptees, Chiefsfan364, Adams921, and EuroTrash. Please tell me what else I should do before I become an admin. Thank you, ~ Magnus animum ∵ ∫ φ γ 21:06, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
Reviews
- Looks like you're nearly ready for adminship. Some suggestions in the meantime:
- Your Wikipedia namespace editcount is good, but too much of that is related to MOTD, which some RfA voters see as trivial. Try participating at WP:AFD or other kinds of XfDs to get more experience of the deletion policy and process, which is very important for an admin.
- You also need a few more mainspace edits - some people like to see at least 1500 for an admin candidate. Keep up the vandal-fighting, as this is a good way to get mainspace edits quickly.
- On the plus side, your overall editcount is very good, and it doesn't sound like you've had any conflicts other than with vandals. However, wait about another month, rack up some more projectspace and mainspace edits, then I'll nominate you. Don't jump in too early with a self-nom. - You're almost there! Just keep doing what you always do for about another month or so. Then you'll be ready.Shindo9Hikaru 23:40, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
- I also like the look of you as a potential admin. I'd go further than Shindo9Hikaru on the subject of Mainspace. In your future RfA you'll be asked a question very much like question 1, below. Most users expect a reply that at least includes a significant contribution to a Mainspace article. I'm not sure you can make such a claim... and that'll attract oppose !votes, along the lines of "we are here to build an encylopedia after all". Find a topic which interests you and is easy to research on the Net and... work at it. Happy to help if you want more. --Dweller 08:40, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sure that you have amde many large edits to Mainspace articles, which you should probably mention in your introduction and answers to questions. I myself don't view the MOTD as trivial, and I don't know anyone that does, but I suppose Hikaru knows more than I do. Your template work should also be mentioned. - Earlier in this account, your edit summary was severely lacking. Yet, you improved upon this well. Mainspace edits look good. However, which articles have you significantly improved or contributed to? This will be helpful to put on your userpage. In addition, be familiar with policy on Wikipedia. Also, speaking of policy, please read the rules on WP:IRC, because this review was kind of out of the ordinary. Although it is good to display civilty, it is good to know that Wikipedia is not censored. Real96 02:48, 8 May 2007 (UTC)

- You have to draw the line somewhere between censorship and civility. My review was just to let you know that some users — those who do not like to see any profanity whatsoever — may oppose you if you make an RfA per incivility on IRC. ~ Magnus animum ∵ ∫ φ γ 00:55, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- Right then, where do I start, you've got a good mix of contributions across a number of namespaces, I like the fact that you turn your hand to some vandal fighting now and again. I've seen you putting your foot into admin waters which is a good thing. I would echo concerns of mainspace, it's probably a good idea for you to edit a few articles, it really does help you unsderstands our key guidlines and policies such as WP:RS, WP:N, WP:V e.t.c.... Can I also suggest you get involved in a few AfD debates, again this will help you understand how notability is assertained, it's a good idea to just read through a few of the debates as well without commenting and think about how you would close them based on consensus. I'm a little concerned by your contribs to WP:MOTD, now this is a userspace project and it is something that will most probably come up at RfA that you concentrate your contribs on something which has little benefit to creating an encyclopedia, by all means continue your work there (you do a great job), but consider taking a step back a bit from it. Apart from that - keep up the good work :-) Ryan Postlethwaite 11:54, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi Magnus animum, I notice you've been assisting other users at WP:HD these days. Keep up your great work. :) PeaceNT 04:06, 21 May 2007 (UTC)

Questions
- Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- I am particularly pleased with all of my contributions in the article namespace, all of my contribs at MOTD, and, on a related note, I am very pleased with nomming Bibliomaniac15 for adminship. In addition to all of these, I am always pleased when I help an editor who asks.
- Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- Yes, being a prolific vandal fighter requires being able to deal with a wide spectrum of stressors. Most of the vandals just added nonsense to my userpage, which was promptly reverted. I get over a lot of my stress by stepping back, taking a deep breath, and approaching the problem in a civil manner; if my wikistress levels can't be solved by any of the aforementioned solutions, I will take a short wikibreak.
