I've been an editor since 2003, but my level of contribution has dropped off sharply in the last year--and probably even since 2005. Now that I have left my job in large part due to a hopelessly skewed work/life balance and hope to have a great deal more free time when I find a new position, I think I may start increasing my contribution level. I just discovered this process and would be interested to see the results before I ramp up again. Lukobe 20:33, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Hey, let me get this straight: you quit your job so that you'd have more time for Wikipedia? I think you have your priorities in order...just kidding. :)

I haven't read the article on Seattle, but being a main author to any featured article is a very impressive accomplishment. I see from the logs that you have also improved articles on many suburbs of Seattle. Keep up the good work! If you don't know this already, many of the articles about cities and towns in the United States were produced by a one-time database dump from "Rambot" a few years ago, so just because Wikipedia has an article on a particular town, that doesn't mean it's a good article. You can continue to sort through articles in the relevant categories, starting with Category:Seattle, Washington, looking for anything that needs expert attention.

It would be nice if you used edit summaries more often. Also, if you'd like to contribute outside your main field of interest, there are plenty of ideas waiting for you at the Community Portal (link on the left sidebar).

I wish you good luck. Shalom (HelloPeace) 02:48, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am proud of my contributions to articles on the Pacific Northwest, specifically Seattle and its neighborhoods. I am particularly proud of having helped get the Seattle article to FA status.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
Yes. My two biggest conflicts have probably been with Dark Tichondrias (now "Dark Tea") over articles relating to race and ethnicity and Alexvincent2 over the Arlington, Washington article. In the former case I attempted to deal with the situation by tagging articles and templates for copyedit or removal as appropriate, and by reverting edits. In the latter case, I ended up having to bring in admins to suspend the editor, as he insisted on vandalizing my user page. I think in both cases we were both guilty of violating the 3RR, about which I should have known better. There was also an ongoing conflict with GoDot over articles of local Pacific Northwest interest; this became moot when he appeared to abandon the project. In the future I plan to keep a better eye on myself, but I think in general I do that already.
