[edit] Leebo

Leebo (talk · contribs) I've been active since December 2006 and I feel that I've been around long enough that a review of my contributions would be beneficial to me. I get feedback occasionally for individual situations, but I would value a broader range of feedback. Leebo T/C 21:07, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Reviews

  • Hi Leebo! Anime addict eh? Very Asian =] (I say it because I am Asian). Anyways, you want a broader range of feedback on your contributions. I'll try my best:
  • WP:AFD - Great job. Plenty of contributions in AfD. I don't think it's wise when user dedicates their entire Wiki time on patrolling the deletion discussions. The time you spend on AfD is good, not too much, not too few, and I spotted various quality discussions (votes with reference to the policies such as WP:N and understands it well) while browsing through your contributions.
  • It is common for new page patrollers to be dedicated solely for WP:AfD and WP:AIV. While you are that kind of user, you have contributed to other Wikipedia space pages as well (such as WP:RFC, WP:RPP, WP:ANI), with some discussion attempts in WikiProject Anime and Manga. So it's all good.
  • Impressive number of User talk edits. Only some of them are welcome messages, which is good. The purpose of User talk is to display your ability to communicate with other users. If it's only welcome messages and vandal warnings, it's not enough. This is not the case for you, as you have communicated with various other users.
  • Understands image policy. Good thing.
  • One thing to remind: Be careful not to let your mainspace contributions get overshadowed (by your contribution in other namespaces). AQu01rius (User • Talk) 16:52, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
  • Not very good , but mediocre. No offence , but i think Leebo just created articles and makes edits to increase his "wikipedia score". No real love in his articles. Always helpful though, i have to admit. Can be a better editor. Wastes his time on AFD's and instead of improving articles, mostly deletes them. That is all. Critic111 13:24, 26 April 2007 (UTC)
  • For reference, Critic111 was the below mentioned AfD nominator of my DynaMed article, and has stated on his talk page that I am one of his "enemies" due to my "utter incompetence". Leebo T/C 16:41, 26 April 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
My favorite contribution to Wikipedia is the Ken Noguchi article, which I wrote and submitted to appear in the Did you know? section of the main page. Researching the subject, writing the article, formatting it properly, and seeing it on the main page were the most fulfilling tasks I've undertaken in the 3 and a half months I've been here. I really hope that I can continue to improve the article and help it get promoted to good-class or better. My other articles are nice too, but they're stubs and still need a lot of work.
Additionally, I take part in the new pages patrol and reverting vandalism, so while I'm proud of making Wikipedia a little less cluttered with nonsense, it's also a source of frustration.
  1. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I haven't had many conflicts in the process of editing controversial topics. Some things can be illogically frustrating, like a minor disagreement I had over the name of Getsumento Heiki Mina. I try to remain cool and not let the frustration I feel with another edit show in my text. I've been vandalized quite a lot, but that never really bothers me; in fact, it's usually good for a laugh. One thing I need to stop doing is letting small issues become larger, like the issue with Lilkunta's talk page. In real life, I'm a very stubborn person, and I restrain myself on Wikipedia, but it sometimes gets the best of me.
Another incident that was frustrating occurred when a user who I had warned about removing AfD templates nominated an article I started (DynaMed) for deletion on the basis that I must be promoting the product. He left me quite a few hostile messages and accused me of falsifying my references. The result of the discussion was to keep the article, but it was not a pleasant experience.
