Jordan_Elder (talk ยท contribs) I've been around here for two years and I have over 700 edits. I mainly do vandal-fighting. I'd like to see how I'm doing, just in case there's something needing improvement. Thank you. Jordan Elder talk 18:31, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Reviews

Everything's fine with me. I encourage you to do things other than vandal fighting also. There are plenty of ideas at the "Community Portal" (link at the left sidebar). Within vandal fighting, I make the following recommendations.

  • I see that you have Vandal Proof. I don't, and for now I continue to revert vandalism "by hand." I assume the program automatically warns the user who did the vandalism, but sometimes you may want to give a stronger warning. For example, if you check the contribs of that user, and you see that they've made three or four vandalism edits in the last ten minutes, revert those and then give the user a level 3 or 4 warning. Sometimes you may want to add a note "by hand", depending on the nature of the situation. Always assume good faith for the first and second edits of any user.
  • You can search a more specific list of recent changes to focus on areas of particular interest. There are links at the top of the "Recent Changes" page (link on left sidebar). Two that I like to hang out on are Special:Newpages and the "BLP" recent changes for pages in Category:Living people. Both of these receive more vandalism than the wiki as a whole.

I wish you good luck. YechielMan 01:00, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

  • My review won't be long.. You've been here since '05 and only have a bit over 700 edits. You really should be more active. And try using more edit summaries--$UIT 02:42, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am pleased with some of the edits I've made that got overlooked by others. I check articles without edit summaries or substantial change in bytes to see what happened.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I haven't had too many edit conflicts in recent times. I don't really consider my edits back in 2005, when I was a young Wikipedian still learning things.
