HubHikari (talk ยท contribs) Hi. I'm a fairly new editor, and I seem to have made some enemies and some friends. I just wanted to obtain a general consensus from the community as to how I'm doing.

  • It sounds like you've inflamed a few people with speedy deletions. That's not all that bad -- sometimes people complain when you tell them that their articles aren't notable. (See Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/High-C for an example of the kind of fun that happens when people really get upset and claim that their articles are notable.) It also looks like you got into a tiff with Grog2006 regarding deletion of an article for a band named "Basement Invaders". I would have marked that article for speedy deletion too -- they have no indications of meeting the criteria in WP:MUSIC. Newpage patrol and commenting in WP:AFD are a couple places where you have to have a thick skin, as well as knowing the criteria for speedy deletions and for notability in general. Otherwise, keep up with what you're doing. If you're looking for extra credit, you could always categorize new articles using the criteria in WP:CAT, as well as paying attention to wikification and links to other articles. A lot of new articles get created without being in a category, or without proper wikification. Feel free to ask me any further questions. --Elkman - (talk) 04:30, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  • I think you have enraged a few more people than I have in regards to speedy delete. I really didn't examine all of your edits so I could be way of base, but it seems like sometimes you are more willing to pull the trigger on a page, rather than fix it up or redirect it. Then again, that is a minor thing coming from me. But, you really do well on new page patrol. Yanksox 19:34, 19 May 2006 (UTC)
  • Keep up the good work - looks like you're a hard working editor. CSDs do piss people off - but they do no damage (apart from to egos) and may help concentrate people's minds. I ahve followed through and deleted various of those so marked by you. Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 16:22, 22 May 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your articles or contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
I am fairly proud of the edits I've made to articles, esp. the typographical and stylistic ones...I haven't made too too many edits, though.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
The only "edit conflicts" I've been in amount to Yanksox and I attempting to tag the same page at the same time for deletion and Darren removing my PROD tags on his articles. Overall, I've kept a level head in the midst of people being pissed off at me over my edits.
